Love of Money

Hi My Love,

For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.

-1 Timothy 6:6-10

Command those who are rich in the present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.
In this way they will lay up a treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

-1 Timothy 6:17-19

I have been struggling and stressing out thinking that I must be rich before I can ever provide for my loved one. In this case you.
And as I was praying, something came to mind.
Imagine two Sarahs.
First Sarah, multi-billionaire. Second Sarah, barely able to afford meals.
But both content with who they are and what they have been given.
They have one thing in common,
They both desire a man, a rich and wealthy man,
But the wealth and richness they need is not that of the world
But a man who is rich in righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.

The Greatest 2 Commandments

Hi My love,

Today the topic of discussion is:

The world hates the disciples
(John 15:18-19)
"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."

So what can we do? Lets narrow it down shall we? How about just to some simple things that Jesus asked us to do.

The greatest Two Commandments

There are no commandments greater than these

(Matthew 22:37-39)

  1. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."
  2. "Love your neighbour as yourself."

(Mark 12:30)

  1. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."
  2. "Love your neighbour as yourself."

"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you." - John 15:12

"This is my command: Love each other." - John 15:17

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me." - John 14:1

"I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the father."
" You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." - John 14:12-14

Red Eye

Hi My Love,

My grand dad's eye is very red. Seems like a burst blood vessel. No discharge, no blurred vision, no pain and no itchiness. Gotta pray that there is nothing wrong and for it to heal up quickly!

Gotta say that he really likes you very much my love.

He doesn't smile much at all, especially in pictures!

But, you can see for yourself that big smile he has there in this picture.

I will keep you updated on how he is doing my love.

My 45 year old patient who has liver cancer has just passed away. She has lived a very very very healthy life, and has been eating extremely healthy all her life.
No more excuses, no more procrastination and lets not take little things for granted.

Milestone

This is a picture of you dressing me up to look the same as you.
That is my face expressing how I feel about you dressing me up the same as you. haha

Hi My Love,

MileStone: An Action or event marking a significant change or stage in development.

I wanted to share with you how happy I am with one the progress of one of my patients.
Four months ago, the surgeon told him that there might be a possibility of losing his leg. After 4 months of intensive rehab with him, the surgeon reviewed him today and said, "you have passed that stage and you can now keep your leg". I don't even know how to explain the joy that he and his family experienced. Thank you God!

Joy is not the absence of suffering but the presence of God. -Elisabeth Elliot

We still have a long journey ahead of us and this is one of the biggest milestones he has achieved. I am so proud of him. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

Alright back to more paper work. I am so tired my love, I just feel like taking a rest BUT I got to press on. I got to put myself in my patient's shoes and do what I would want my physiotherapist to do for me or my loved ones.

"Do to others as you would have them do to you." - Luke 6:31

Custom Made

To Sarah With Love

Hi My Love,

You know I thought of something today,
Hopefully what I said was correct to my student.

This is what I told him:
Having good communication with your patients,
Is similar to being good at driving a manual car.
Once you are able to shift gears well,
and synchronising clutch and gear becomes automatic,
you will be able to focus on the road and traffic,
and get a smooth journey to your destination.
Once you are able to communicate well with your patients,
and getting your instructions through clearly and accurately,
you will be able to focus on gaining their trust and confidence,
and get a smooth journey to accomplish their goal with you.

Whether he understood what I was trying to say, I will never know haha.

At the same time, I told him that being confident with speaking doesn't mean you can pull off bullshitting.
From the limited experience I have, I told him that patients will respect you more when you tell them, This is what I believe Might be happening, I apologise I am not familiar with this but I will ask my colleagues and do some research on what might be going on.
And Make sure you bloody DO IT!
People will pick up your bullshitting even though they might not know what you are talking about.

This is a good quote:

The smallest Deed is better than the grandest intention. - Larry Eisenberg

.. Maybe I overloaded my student with too much information.
Anyways, I got a lot to learn. I want to be a great teacher one day.

War Horse

John: Your father would absolutely love this movie.
Lester: I can't believe you watched such crap.
John: LoL I even cried... Sh*t!
Lester: Sh*t.. I surely cry. Even watching Enchanted, I cry like Sh*t.

Hi My Love,

I am having skin problems, itching and also getting like rashes... maybe the hydro pool. Anyways I m putting different sorts of lotions on them. Hopefully they will work out alright. I got to get my two raised "mole" look a likes checked out when I get back to KK. Maybe I should just get it checked out here.

Sweet heart, over the past few days I have figured out something.
My boss told me, in order to be a great clinician.
You cannot just meet expectations. You got to Exceed Expectations.
In that way, it makes people spread the word about you.

Thats what I have been doing with work but never realised that it too applies to other things in life such as, Loving you.

I have realised that I have only been trying to Meet your expectations.
And that is where I have gone wrong.
I should Exceed your expectations, and love you so much that it overflows!
Till the point you can't contain it and it pours out unto others.

I know you are scared every time the middle of the year comes.
But There is a difference. I know there is.
1st year - Relying on you
2nd year - Relying on myself
3rd year - Relying on God

An Old Photo

Hi My Love,

This is classic. This is The Girl I fell in love with in 2009.

I have decided to put up pictures of our journey together once in a while. You put a smile on my face.

My cousin asked how I am finding Long distance relationship, and how come you are not bothered by it.

This is what I said.
Well, Of course we would want to be living in the same place, no doubt.
We have our goals to accomplish. She has to finish her degree, and I have to work extremely hard to one day buy her a Hermes bag. *cough (you wish don't you my love)
But instead of looking at each other as being an adventure, we got to find our adventure and have someone to share it with. If we were to treat each other as our adventure, It will lead to problems when something goes wrong.
I explained how encouraging you are and how your encouragement and belief in me just really builds me up when I am out there.

I really do miss you.

Hit And Run

Hi My Love,

Look at my beautiful new scratches.
I didn't see it at all until I got home and Sam told me about it!
Why, why, why?!Where are all the honest people who would actually write a note and apologise! This is the second time this has happened to me. First time was with my little black Jazz! Someone backed into my car while it was in a parking lot.

Anyways, whatever, its past now and can't do anything about it. Could have been worst!

Sweetheart, today I shared something with my cousin and his girlfriend.
I talked about what you taught me. And I absolutely love it and give you credit every time I use it. " I don't want to be a bucket carrier, I want to build a pipeline!"
And we talked about how success in this world is something easy to achieve.
The majority of people have the same following traits:
1)Laziness and 2)Lack of common sense/Wisdom.
SO in order to be successful, the word of God wants us to:

1) Be Hardworking
-"All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty." -Proverbs 14:23
-"Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor."- Proverbs 12:24
-"A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest; and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man." - Proverbs 6:10-11, 24:33-34
-"The Sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied."-Proverbs 13:4

2) Gain some Common-sense/Wisdom
-"Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than Gold."-Proverbs 3:13-14
- "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." -James 1:5
- To be honest I am reading and reading, The bible is filled with scriptures of wisdom. LOL.

I am sure there are plenty of other things we can learn from successful people anyways.
Like you said, It really depends who we hang out with doesn't it. :) hmm wait... I think I read something to back this up just now.
"He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm" - Proverbs 13:20
Thats why I love hanging out with you!

Asleep much babe?

Hi My Love,

I am so happy that you have agreed to discuss the story of Joseph with me.
I am half way through the story, and guess what. You are Asleep! LoL.
Skype gets disconnected half way,
and you ring back and ask, "What happened just now?"
I answered, "You fell asleep". -.-''
I'll get you to discuss and do all the talking with me next time when I see you in person!

I am starting to wonder when I should tell you about this blog dedicated to you. I'll just wait and see how many posts I put up here till you find out.

Tiger Woods is playing at the US Open this weekend and after the first day, he is in contention and he is showing some good form on the course. You're probably not interested at all lol.

Anyways, I am going to play golf on Sunday! I am so excited! I bought my call away Razor Fit driver last week Sat, and until today I haven't even found the time to use it yet!

Lester has ordered his MacBook Pro and its going to get here in about 4 weeks. I am thinking about it! But I have to save up money first because I am going back to see you soon!

Why is Abbreviation such a long word?

My Sweetheart, we got to draw close to God and he will draw close to us. I wish things were so simple, but we got to persevere. I love you.

Joseph

Hi My Love,
You are probably thinking why on earth do I have pictures of shoes up here on my post.
I have to admit, as a 26 year old. These are the first pair of working shoes I have ever bought with money I have earned. The pair I've been using for the last past year... Sam's.
And the working shoes previous to that were shoes I bought in America while I was studying there lol.

My love, I have spent the last two hours just studying one of my favourite stories in the bible. The story of Joseph. We got to sit down and discuss about this guy together one day.
A handsome and well built young man. Started off being a smart-ass, cocky fellow who didn't know how to think before he spoke. He got himself into trouble, and from being the spoilt and most loved child by his parents, became a slave, then prisoner. And in 13 years, he was put into positions of leadership and held great responsibilities regardless of where he was until finally being the Pharaoh of Egypt's Right hand man. He not only talked the talk but he walked the walk. He was hard-working and humble, always giving all the credit to God. The Lord gave him success in whatever he did because The Lord was with him.

My love, my summary of who Joseph is does not give the story justice. You have to read it for yourself. Over and over and over again. Starting from Genesis 37.

Shakespeare

Hi My Love!

I think that this picture is really funny! It made me Laugh! Anyways, I was just looking for a picture of shakespeare, and boy is he one ugly duckling. So I used this one instead.

Anyways today my love, I had a nice chat with one of my patients. He is a very wise old man (90). I asked him, what advice would you give to someone my age? He thought for a moment and this is what he gave me.

"Know thy self, to thine own self be true." - Shakespeare
Know your strengths, Know your weaknesses.
Because you can't know anything else if you don't know yourself.
Your strong points will be obvious,
The weak points are the ones you need to find and work on.
Do not make exceptions for yourself.

You know my love, I really can't explain to you how much I am enjoying myself at this job at the moment. God really has a sense of humour. Me thinking I'd be some sort of super sports physiotherapist, but instead rehabilitation in the home. He knows me, and he knows where I would flourish. So all I got to do is try my best and let him do the rest! haha

Boasting about tomorrow
"Now listen, you who say, "today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." James 4:13-15

My Love, if it is the Lord's will, I hope we'll be stuck with each other, forever. :)

MacBook Pro

Hi My Love,

That says it all doesn't it :)
Oh man I am so tempted!! I've been discussing with Lester about this the entire night!
I've been waiting so long! I wonder why they haven't said anything about iPhone 5 yet.
Oh well, soon soon.

I can't believe I used to be anti-apple.
I do admit that I've no complaints and that switching over from blackberry to iPhone was one of the best moves I've done technology wise.  The main reason was so I could FaceTime with you. LoL. We've probably done it...two times? haha.

Anyways, I do use it a lot for work.

Here are some of the reasons:
1) Call BabyloveSarah
2) Message BabyloveSarah
3) Check BabyloveSarah's Facebook messages
4) Skype with BabyloveSarah
5) Online Bank transfer to BabyloveSarah

hahaha...

Anyways got loads of work to do
Got to start preparing for my presentation on Parkinson's to the company.. approx 25 people!
Then prepare my best man's speech for Bernard to approx 25 tables!!!
I don't know which is worst! hahaha

over and out my love

Obedience In Children

Hi My Love,

Babe this is going to be a weird post but, I guess I got to speak about what I've been thinking about today and things I have been doing.

I was talking to my patient and her husband. I have no idea about how we got onto the topic but we talked about how young children nowadays would dare to "answer back" to their teachers. No one would dare in the past.

Her husband asked me what my opinion was on this matter.
I told him that I believe that children learn and follow whoever teaches them during their early years to their early teens. A lot of children nowadays come from broken families,  and have no one there to teach and guide them. There are the odd ones out but this is usually the case. It was just my opinion, what do I know i'm not even a parent yet.
And I told them the first memory verse which has been implanted in me was this:

"Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him."- Proverbs 22:15

You know, I was kinda shocked that I remembered it word for word! haha

They agreed that they have spanked their kids and have been whacked by their parents but nowadays, its abuse. Oh well.

Anyways, that was just something we were discussing about.

I just don't get it, I have been hit by my coaches when I was swimming, on my legs and arms. But I wouldn't dare get up out of the pool and walk away. I remember the day I was left swimming sets when the whole team was out of the pool already and waiting for me. Man, I was crying cause I couldn't make the time interval, but I still had to swim and swim. This was in Sandakan. And even till this day, if I go back to Sandakan, I just don't like the place because of the memories.

I really love speaking to the elderly. They are just full of wisdom and knowledge. And most of them speak in proper english. Its very refreshing. I thoroughly enjoy each moment I get to spend with them, Honestly sweetheart! Anyways, I know you are a natural with oldies too :)
I think to myself, I am just starting my life, and they are at their end. The way they look at life is so different.

I apologize for the dry letter to you today my love. Its just been bothering me so much that the world is so different. Listen to the difference in music from years ago compared to now! you've got songs about break ups and sleeping around, where as you've got songs like....

" I I I, I'm so in love with you, Sarah, whatever you want to do, is alright with me. Cause you make me feel so brand new. And I want to spend my life with You, Sarah.
Oh Baby Let's, let's stay together, lovin' you Sarah, whether times are good or bad, happy or sad, alright oh yeah Sarah"

Lets Journey Together

Hi my Love,

I got to explain a little bit about this photo for future reference.
Its a teddy I got for you for our 3rd year anniversary. It seems longer somehow.
Just yesterday I told my mom, I never realised that love was also a fruit of the spirit.
I sure am watering and nourishing this seed because my love has grown so much for you my love. People can call me cheesy or whatever but boy look at that gorgeous young lady sitting on the floor there.

I have to say, today I've been thinking about something someone has said to me.

"I believe that a relationship is about compromising and understanding. Its not about romance, its more of two people embarking on a journey together under the commandments of the Lord. It takes work and effort."

My Dearest, I would love to embark on this journey with you, I hope you would feel the same way for me too. I love you sweetheart.

One Tenth

One Tenth

Hi My Love,

I wanted to share with you how I changed my attitude in Giving to God.

The day I got my first pay, It was easy to give the one Tenth to God. But when I got my second pay, I received more which meant my one tenth needed to be more too.

Boy did i struggle with myself. My head was full of questions such as:

1) Hm.. well are you sure God that you want one tenth? I only hear people say it at church.
2) Maybe you just want us to give as much as we want from our hearts?
3) Is ten percent of my income, excluding the money I get paid for fuel?
4) Gee its a lot of money, the church doesn't need that much from me.
5) I don't see others giving a lot why do I have to give so much.

SO I decided to find some answers...... FROM THE BIBLE! NOT PEOPLE!

1) "And blessed be God Most high, who delivered your enemies into your hand." Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything. - Genesis 14:20

2) "Melchizedek was King of Salem and priest of God most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, And Abraham gave him a tenth of everything.." Hebrews 7:1-2

3) "A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord. If a man redeems any of his tithe, he must add a fifth of the value to it. The entire tithe of the herd and flock - every tenth animal that passes under the shepherd's rod - will be holy to the Lord. He must not pick out the good from the bad or make any substitution. If he does make a substitution, both the animal and its substitute become holy and cannot be redeemed." - Leviticus 27:30-33

4) "there bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and special gifts, what you have vowed to give and your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks. There, in the presence of the Lord your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the Lord your God has blessed you." Deuteronomy 12:6-7

5) "Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a Tenth of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone." Luke 11:42

6) Jesus told this parable: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men - Robbers, evil-doers, adulterers - or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.' "I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted." Luke 18:9-14

7) "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, 'How do we rob you?'
In Tithes and offerings. You are under a curse - the whole nation of you - because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty,
"and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it." Malachi 3:8-10

WELL... after reading those over and over again. It is clear as mud now isn't it.

And from that day onwards, till the day I die. I have no excuses and no more questions.

I have tested God like he said in Malachi. And the Lord is sooo Good! :)

My sweetheart, I want to thank you for being a great example to me. You have such a generous heart, not only in money, but in love to others. You care for people and take time out to help even when you are busy.
You might not have started working yet and don't have earthly money, but boy are you blessed with a different kind of currency.

A Picture

Double Delight Rose
Hi my love,

I had posted this picture up on Facebook with this quote

This is a picture I took today of something that reminds me of you.
A beautiful rose that stands out amongst the rest.

The one and only.
There were plenty of other flowers, pretty, ugly, bright and dull.
But there was only one that captured my heart.

And after that day, and the next few days,
Boy I was pestered by a thought,
Whether it'd be a thought planted by God ?
Maybe, maybe not, I am not sure.

Whats the difference
Stepping on that rose vs Scolding your loved one?
Nothing

And I realised another thing.
Something that I should have understood.
I ve been taught countless times about this verse.

"The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control"- Galations 5:22

But I've been praying it the wrong way.
"Lord, give me love, joy, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control."

They are fruits, fruits don't magically appear, they need to be grown! DUH

Thanks for sharing that sermon with me my love.

Hi My Love

Hi my love,
I know its difficult when we are miles apart.
When you're asleep, I'm awake.
When I'm awake, you're asleep.
I have decided to dedicate this blog especially for you.
So here it is, Hi my love.

I sit here on my bed,
thinking of what you might be doing,
I know you are studying for your exam,
but that is boring.
I think about the way you hold your pen so tight,
and the way you tilt your head so low,
and yet you wonder why your necks so sore.

I read today in proverbs three,
that wisdom and understanding,
she is more profitable than silver,
yields better returns than gold.
you know I have known it for years,
but never really understood it.

Today with a patient,
as she was talking with a speech impediment,
I cut her and finished her sentence before she did,
So i slapped my mouth and she smiled and said,
"Don't worry, I'm used to it".
I realised how disrespectful I was and apologised.

I write things randomly,
as I think of things randomly.
I apologise my dear for my terrible writing,
I write what I think,
and I'd like to share my thoughts with you my love.
So hi my love.
