Love of Money

Hi My Love,

For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.

-1 Timothy 6:6-10

Command those who are rich in the present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.
In this way they will lay up a treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

-1 Timothy 6:17-19

I have been struggling and stressing out thinking that I must be rich before I can ever provide for my loved one. In this case you.
And as I was praying, something came to mind.
Imagine two Sarahs.
First Sarah, multi-billionaire. Second Sarah, barely able to afford meals.
But both content with who they are and what they have been given.
They have one thing in common,
They both desire a man, a rich and wealthy man,
But the wealth and richness they need is not that of the world
But a man who is rich in righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.

The Greatest 2 Commandments

Hi My love,

Today the topic of discussion is:

The world hates the disciples
(John 15:18-19)
"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."

So what can we do? Lets narrow it down shall we? How about just to some simple things that Jesus asked us to do.

The greatest Two Commandments

There are no commandments greater than these

(Matthew 22:37-39)

  1. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."
  2. "Love your neighbour as yourself."

(Mark 12:30)

  1. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."
  2. "Love your neighbour as yourself."

"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you." - John 15:12

"This is my command: Love each other." - John 15:17

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me." - John 14:1

"I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the father."
" You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." - John 14:12-14

Red Eye

Hi My Love,

My grand dad's eye is very red. Seems like a burst blood vessel. No discharge, no blurred vision, no pain and no itchiness. Gotta pray that there is nothing wrong and for it to heal up quickly!

Gotta say that he really likes you very much my love.

He doesn't smile much at all, especially in pictures!

But, you can see for yourself that big smile he has there in this picture.

I will keep you updated on how he is doing my love.

My 45 year old patient who has liver cancer has just passed away. She has lived a very very very healthy life, and has been eating extremely healthy all her life.
No more excuses, no more procrastination and lets not take little things for granted.

Milestone

This is a picture of you dressing me up to look the same as you.
That is my face expressing how I feel about you dressing me up the same as you. haha

Hi My Love,

MileStone: An Action or event marking a significant change or stage in development.

I wanted to share with you how happy I am with one the progress of one of my patients.
Four months ago, the surgeon told him that there might be a possibility of losing his leg. After 4 months of intensive rehab with him, the surgeon reviewed him today and said, "you have passed that stage and you can now keep your leg". I don't even know how to explain the joy that he and his family experienced. Thank you God!

Joy is not the absence of suffering but the presence of God. -Elisabeth Elliot

We still have a long journey ahead of us and this is one of the biggest milestones he has achieved. I am so proud of him. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

Alright back to more paper work. I am so tired my love, I just feel like taking a rest BUT I got to press on. I got to put myself in my patient's shoes and do what I would want my physiotherapist to do for me or my loved ones.

"Do to others as you would have them do to you." - Luke 6:31

Custom Made

To Sarah With Love

Hi My Love,

You know I thought of something today,
Hopefully what I said was correct to my student.

This is what I told him:
Having good communication with your patients,
Is similar to being good at driving a manual car.
Once you are able to shift gears well,
and synchronising clutch and gear becomes automatic,
you will be able to focus on the road and traffic,
and get a smooth journey to your destination.
Once you are able to communicate well with your patients,
and getting your instructions through clearly and accurately,
you will be able to focus on gaining their trust and confidence,
and get a smooth journey to accomplish their goal with you.

Whether he understood what I was trying to say, I will never know haha.

At the same time, I told him that being confident with speaking doesn't mean you can pull off bullshitting.
From the limited experience I have, I told him that patients will respect you more when you tell them, This is what I believe Might be happening, I apologise I am not familiar with this but I will ask my colleagues and do some research on what might be going on.
And Make sure you bloody DO IT!
People will pick up your bullshitting even though they might not know what you are talking about.

This is a good quote:

The smallest Deed is better than the grandest intention. - Larry Eisenberg

.. Maybe I overloaded my student with too much information.
Anyways, I got a lot to learn. I want to be a great teacher one day.

War Horse

John: Your father would absolutely love this movie.
Lester: I can't believe you watched such crap.
John: LoL I even cried... Sh*t!
Lester: Sh*t.. I surely cry. Even watching Enchanted, I cry like Sh*t.

Hi My Love,

I am having skin problems, itching and also getting like rashes... maybe the hydro pool. Anyways I m putting different sorts of lotions on them. Hopefully they will work out alright. I got to get my two raised "mole" look a likes checked out when I get back to KK. Maybe I should just get it checked out here.

Sweet heart, over the past few days I have figured out something.
My boss told me, in order to be a great clinician.
You cannot just meet expectations. You got to Exceed Expectations.
In that way, it makes people spread the word about you.

Thats what I have been doing with work but never realised that it too applies to other things in life such as, Loving you.

I have realised that I have only been trying to Meet your expectations.
And that is where I have gone wrong.
I should Exceed your expectations, and love you so much that it overflows!
Till the point you can't contain it and it pours out unto others.

I know you are scared every time the middle of the year comes.
But There is a difference. I know there is.
1st year - Relying on you
2nd year - Relying on myself
3rd year - Relying on God

An Old Photo

Hi My Love,

This is classic. This is The Girl I fell in love with in 2009.

I have decided to put up pictures of our journey together once in a while. You put a smile on my face.

My cousin asked how I am finding Long distance relationship, and how come you are not bothered by it.

This is what I said.
Well, Of course we would want to be living in the same place, no doubt.
We have our goals to accomplish. She has to finish her degree, and I have to work extremely hard to one day buy her a Hermes bag. *cough (you wish don't you my love)
But instead of looking at each other as being an adventure, we got to find our adventure and have someone to share it with. If we were to treat each other as our adventure, It will lead to problems when something goes wrong.
I explained how encouraging you are and how your encouragement and belief in me just really builds me up when I am out there.

I really do miss you.
